Since its first edition, in 1999, the Plinius Conference on Mediterranean Storms has provided a crucial interdisciplinary contribution for improving our understanding of hazardous, weather-related storms of over the Mediterranean basin.

The objective of the 2011 edition of the Conference, the 13th of the series, was to provide an interdisciplinary forum for presentations and discussions of our current state of knowledge, as well as motivating new research and applications within the variety of disciplines related to Mediterranean storms and their impacts on people.

For the duration of the conference videos of artists of international reputation, dedicated to the theme of the conference have been projected in the most evocative locations of Priamàr.
In the arcades of the ‘Palazzo della Loggia’ four young artists from Academies of Fine Arts of the Mediterranean countries have carried out, a large composition on the theme, in public.
The work of young artists has been filmed and screened in the evening on the outer wall of the Fortress of Priamàr, thus complementing the activities of the conference with the outside world and creating a strong moment of curiosity.
